Grand Mufti met with HM King Simeon II

The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi was received by HM King Simeon II in the royal residence in Vrana. The meeting is a continuation of the traditionally good relations of Grand Mufti’s Office and the Bulgarian royal family.
They discussed current topics from the country and abroad and focused on training of the local imams in our country.
“It is definitely better the religious staff to be trained in the country, this would protect them from different influences”, said HM King Simeon II. According to him this was the practice in the Kingdom of Morocco which he closely knows.
“Our efforts are in this direction. We deeply believe that if there are conditions the academic – educational process to happens in Bulgaria, the Muslims would prefer it”, said the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi. According to him the regulated educational process will be beneficial for all parties in this case.
HM Simeon II and the Grand Mufti agreed on the fact that Bulgaria is an example with its moderate and harmonious relations between the different communities in the country.
