216 pilgrims and leaders of groups, who are in the holy lands to perform their Muslims obligation for Hajj, successfully completed the obligatory rituals of the pilgrimage. This year the pilgrims had the opportunity to perform “Hajj-i-Akbar” – great pilgrimage of Hajj. This is a Hajj where the day of Arafat coincides with Friday, i.e. the Muslims have two great holidays - the day of Arafat and Friday.

According to the official data of the Ministry of Hajj of Saudi Arabia this year the pilgrims outside the kingdom were 1 390 399. It is supposed that pilgrimage was performed by over a million local citizens, beside this there are also many of those who remained out of the statistics.

According to the information of the organizational team of the Grand Mufti’s Office among the Bulgarian pilgrims more are the women, who are about 120. This year the eldest Bulgarian pilgrim is 82 years old, and the youngest one – 20. The average age of the pilgrims is 57 years.
