Official opening of the reconstructed mosque in the village of Borino
The reconstructed mosque “Reshadie” in the village of Borino, Smolyan region, was officially opened on 2nd of October, 2015. The reconstruction of the mosque was done with EU funding under Measure 322 “Renovation and development of settlements” from the Program for Rural Development. And the internal interior of the mosque is a donation from Bursa Municipality. This is the third mosque in Smolyan region which was restored with European projects, after two such were implemented in the town of Madan – the mosque in quarter 25, and the central mosque.
Official guests of the event were the Regional Mufti of Kardzhali Beyhan Mehmed as a representative of the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, the regional muftis of Blagoevgrad Aydan Muhammed, of Pazardzhik Abdullah Salih, of Krumovgrad Nasuf Nasuf, the Secretary of Regional Mufti’s Office – Smolyan Vahdi Bozov, the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Aliosman Imamov, the MPs Mustafa Karadaya and Hyusein Hafazov, representatives of the Municipal administration of the village of Borino, guests from the municipalities of Bursa and İnegöl, Turkey.
In his speech to the attendees the Secretary of Regional Mufti’s Office – Smolyan Vahdi Bozov brought greetings on behalf of the Regional Mufti of Smolyan Nedzhmi Dabov and urged the residents of Borino to make efforts so that the reconstruction of the mosque to be not only in material but in a religious aspect as well, which could happen only when people are concerned about the houses of Allah. He called upon the children and the youth to visit the mosque more often and to take part in the organized Qur’an courses and religious activities, which from now on will take place in modern conditions.
In his speech the Regional Mufti of Kardzhali greeted all attendees on behalf of the Grand Mufti and briefly recalled about the importance and the place of the mosque in Muslim’s life.
The MP Hyusein Hafazov said that the mosques are a guarantee for the national security of Bulgaria because there are taught the Islamic values and virtues, which are useful for the entire society.
The event ended with cutting the ribbon and performing of the Friday prayer in the renovated mosque, which appeared to be small to gather the residents and the guests of Borino.
The event was attended by 3000 people who received qurban.
