Regional competitions in Basic knowledge in Islam were held in several places in the country

Regional competitions in Basic knowledge in Islam were held from the beginning of the week in a number of Bulgarian cities among trainees from different Qur’an courses in the relevant regions. In the “fight for knowledge” competed students from the Qur’an courses in Shumen region and in Plovdiv region.
On 25th of August (Tuesday) for tenth consecutive year in the city of Shumen was held Regional competition in Basic knowledge in Islam. The competition took place between 8 groups of students from different settlements in Shumen region.
The program began with recitation of Qur’an-i Kerim and a welcoming speech on behalf of the Regional Mufti of Shumen Mesut Mehmedov. The competition continued with questions and answers panel. Each of the groups had to answer several questions. The questions covered four fields and there was also a test – aqidah, ibadah, sira, akhlaq and Qur’an-i Kerim.
During the competition the program was enriched with performances of ilyahi and religious poems from the students from Shumen and the villages of Kliment, Izgrev, Yasenkovo, Tsarkvitsa and Valnari.
After the end of the competition the presenter announced the results and respectively - the ranking.
At first place were ranked the students from the village of Gusla with a teacher Sechil Sinan Hasan – student from SRS – Ruse. The second place was for the students from the village of Yasenkovo and at third place were ranked the students from Tsarkvitsa.
Those who were ranked at first place received the right to participate in the IXth  National Competition in Basic Knowledge in Islam, which will be held in the city of Plovdiv on 13th of September this year.
Regional Mufti’s Office – Shumen provided gifts for all participants in the competition. Those who were ranked at first place received tablets, and those who were ranked at second and third place were awarded with certificates and cash prizes.
On 26th of August (Wednesday) Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv carried out a competition between the summer Qur’an courses from the entire Plovdiv region.
The competition was held in several rounds. Three groups were ranked for the final.
The Qur’an course of Krichim took first place in the competition in Basic knowledge in Islam for the region of Plovdiv with which it qualified for participation in the National Competition in Basic Knowledge in Islam. The second place was for the Qur’an course from quarter Dolni Voden, and the third place was taken by the students from the quarter of Plovdiv Stolipinovo.
All participants in the competition received cash prizes as well as a copy of the Qur’an, CD with Hatim-i Sherif and personal certificates handed them officially by the Regional Mufti of Plovdiv Ersin Ahmed.
Among the official guests of the competition were the Social affairs attaché at the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey Metin Akbaş, the Director of the Muslim school in the village of Ustina Selim Mehmed, as well as many imams, parents and children, graduates of the summer Qur’an courses.
