During the month of Ramadan the food of the neighbor is more delicious

After the hot July day the inhabitants of the town of Slavyanovo, Pleven region, gathered for a common iftar.
One a little bit forgotten tradition finds its revival and significance in the social life of the people.
Guests of the event were the Regional Mufti of Pleven Hadzhi Nidzhatin Nedzhipov, the MP Mithat Metin, the guest-imam from the Republic of Turkey Ali Hoca and prominent public figures.
Before the iftar a cultural religious program was organized, it was led by the Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Birali together with Mr. Vedat Hasan – lecturer at HII – Sofia.
The guest-imam for Ramadan shared his excitements and feelings from the opportunity given to him to visit and serve the Muslim in this region. At the same time he shared his worry for the alienation of the people from the mosques.
In the informal dialogue with the people the reminder of atheism from the times of the totalitarian regime was felt and although these people expressed their readiness to study their faith and religion.
“I remember how during Ramadan everyone prepared one and the same food and give it to his neighbors, during the month of Ramadan the food of the neighbor is more delicious”, said the Regional Mufti of Pleven.
The attendees expressed willingness to continue these common dinners because each of them has felt the loneliness and the lack of their relatives who went to work abroad.
The local population expressed gratitude to Grand Mufti’s Office and to everyone who helped for the organization of this iftar.
With wishes for new meetings and may Allah accept our good deeds and forgive our sins!
