Grand Mufti received Interior Minister of Turkey
The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi received the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Turkey Sebahattin Öztürk and the delegation accompanying him in the Grand Mufti’s Office.
“Turkey and Bulgaria are two sovereign countries but your fellow citizens who emigrated to Turkey are the most indicative fact for the live connection between the two peoples. They are and will continue to be a natural bridge between our two countries”, said the Turkish Interior Minister Sebahattin Öztürk during his visit in Grand Mufti’s Office. According to him they are highly interested by the quality of life of the Bulgarian Muslim community and believe that they will benefit more and more from the democratic values both of the country and of the European Union.
It is extremely important to preserve the right of our fellow citizens to profess freely their religion undisturbed although during the recent years far-right political forces allow themselves to play with the religious beliefs and sanctities of the Muslims” said the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi. According to him the spiritual relation between the citizens of the two countries is an important mean for more effective cooperation in different fields. With regard to the religious field the Grand Mufti underlined that Grand Mufti’s Office and the Presidency of Religious Affairs in Turkey are in a very good mutual cooperation with a quality vision for the future.
The protocol meeting ended with exchange of gifts from the two sides.
