Growth in trade relations between Jordan and Bulgaria

“Bulgaria can offer high quality and well-established on the international markets products, to which Jordan companies have showed interest many times, such as metalworking and woodworking machinery, electronics, medical equipment, medicines, perfumery and cosmetics, food products, fruit and vegetable preserves, bee honey and walnuts”, said the Deputy Minister of Economy Lyuben Petrov during the opening of the Bulgarian – Jordanian business forum in a hotel in the capital.

It was organized at the initiative of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) at the Ministry of Economy and the Jordan- Europe business association - JEBA

In order to take part in the forum in Bulgaria also arrived the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, accredited for Bulgaria with a headquarter in Bucharest H.E. Saker Malkawi. Among the participants in the business forum was also the Chairman of the Committee on Halal Certification at the Muslim Denomination Halil Hodzhov. They presented the working methods of the interested parties of the Committee on Halal Certification in Bulgaria, which Grand Mufti’s Office follows when certifying Bulgarian companies.

The forum was attended by the managements of the Jordan – Europe Business Association, BSMEPA, InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA), the Amman Chamber of Industry and Amman Chamber of Commerce as well as representatives of leading Jordanian companies from the following sectors: electronics and electrics, chemical industry, food and confectionery industry, woodworking and furniture industry, tourism and others.
