We informed them about the fact that in all mosques in the scope of the mufti’s office in Kardzhali daily disinfections are done. Also that the conduction of the year-round Qur’an courses and the mawlids in the moment is also suspended.” – the Mufti of Kardzhali Beyhan Mehmed commented on the visit of the Mayor.
The representatives of the municipality made a donation to the mosque’s board of trustees at the central mosque in Kardzhali – protective clothing, masks, gloves and disinfectants, to be used by the imams mostly during funerals.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Kardzhali Eng. Hasan Aziz thanked the Regional Mufti Beyhan Mehmed for the undertaken measures and for the control on their observation.
According to Mehmed, the possibilities of the local media are actively used to inform the local Muslim population in the region regarding the undertaken by Regional Mufti’s Office – Kardzhali safety measures in the situation of the current pandemic.
“The mosques are open, the five-time adhan (call to prayer) continues to be read. There are youth who visit the mosque to perform individual prayer. But if in normal conditions for Jumu’ah prayer, for example, in the central mosque of Kardzhali there are about 450 – 500 people, now, during the state of emergency, on Friday come between 10 and 15 people to perform the noon prayer. Most often they are travelers or people working in the town who perform individually their prayer and leave. We have warned the elderly people not to visit the mosque, and, Alhamdulellah, they observe these provisions. And as a whole, all undertaken safety measures are working.” – further added for Grandmufti.bg the Mufti of Kardzhali.
At the present moment the staff of Regional Mufti’s Office – Kardzhali is working on a rotational basis – on duty, one person a day. And all visitors to the central mosque in the town are also admitted one by one in the prayer house and before that they go through obligatory disinfection of the exposed parts of their bodies.
