In the situation of COVID-19 pandemic and the declared state of emergency in the country, which continues already more than 20 days, the management of Religious School – Momchilgrad undertook a noble initiative as a sign of support and empathy to the doctors – those who fight against the coronavirus at frontline.

Using the available resources, and in particular the 3D printer, which is available in the computer lab at the educational institution, few days ago the director of the religious school in Momchilgrad Ahmed Bozov, together with his son Enes Bozov and with one of the teachers in religious sciences, Sabit Topchiyski, personally began the elaboration of safety helmets.

“With the beginning of this pandemic we decided also to join in the noble cause – to help with what we can the doctors, who are fighting at the frontline against the virus” – the Director of RS-Momchilgrad Ahmed Bozov commented for Grandmufti.bg in connection with the initiative.

According to him few days ago the model was officially presented to the Mayor of the Municipality of Momchilgrad Ilknur Myumyun, as well as to the Director of the Regional Health Inspectorate – Kardzhali Dr. Viktor Kirchev, who approved and gladly accepted the idea. After that the elaborated model of a safety helmet was presented for preliminary approval also to the local municipal hospital.

“We understood that the doctors from all sections in the general hospital in Momchilgrad, including the personal physicians, expressed wish to receive such helmets. They have preferred our helmets, because the safety goggles which they are using at the moment, are not so comfortable and effective in their protection.” – Bozov further added.

Yesterday, April 02, 2020, the Director Ahmed Bozov officially donated the first batch of 30 ready safety helmets to the General Hospital for Active Treatment “Dr. Sergey Rostovtsev” in the town of Momchilgrad.

After the elaboration of the first batch of safety helmets the team from RS – Momchilgrad will continue with the production. For about three hours averagely the 3D printer prints 2 helmets, where one of the details of the safety helmet is produced mechanically. After that two more parts are manually added – a transparent plastic part, which covers the whole face, and an elastic, which holds the helmet to the head.

Besides Religious School – Momchilgrad, also Religious School ‘Nyuvvab” in the city of Shumen, and Religious School “Mirza Seid pasha” in Ruse, that have 3D printers in their computer labs, began printing the same model of safety helmets to be used by the local doctors.

The 3D printing machines in the three religious schools at Grand Mufti’s Office are a donation from the Republic of Turkey, and during the past year, 2019, were held several 3D modeling trainings for students and teachers from the schools in Momchilgrad, Shumen and Ruse. Thanks also to this, today they all have the possibility to support the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
