In compliance with the orders of Grand Mufti’s Office and in coordination with RHI – Kadzhali, the central mosque of the town of Kardzhali every day is disinfected in the fight against the new virus COVID-19. Furthermore, the washing facilities for ritual ablution (abdest), the WCs at the mosques are treated with disinfectants.

“The imams of the mosque call upon the believers and especially the elderly ones to perform their prayers at home. The people from the community are asked to keep calm and to preserve the orders both of the municipal and the National Crisis Management. Taking into consideration the difficult situation and the declared state of emergency in our country, and in accordance with the Islamic religious norms, on March 16 (Monday), 2020 the Fatwa Committee at Grand Mufti’s Office decided that the Friday prayer will not be performed in the mosques in the entire country till the end of the crisis situation. However, the Muslim temples will remain open. Taking into consideration this decision of the Muslim Denomination the Friday prayer in the central mosque of the town of Kardzhali will not be performed till the end of the state of emergency in Bulgaria. Instead of this the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi called upon the Muslims to perform the noon prayer, individually.
