The Bulgarian Association of the Graduates with Higher Islamic Education (BAGHIE) together with the regional mufti’s offices at the Muslim Denomination holds a series of training conferences with the renowned Turkish pedagogue, trainer and writer Sait Çamlıca. The trainer is in our country on the invitation of BAGHIE and during the present week he took part in several conferences, attended by Bulgarian citizens with higher Islamic education, imams from the regional mufti’s offices in our country, students and representatives of the Muslim community in the country.

The first conference was held with the kind assistance of Regional Mufti’s Office – Targovishte on March 4 (Wednesday) this year. It was on the topic “Importance, Place and Role of the imam in our modern society” and more than 120 people – imams and muftis from the regional mufti’s offices in Aytos, Ruse, Silistra, Targovishte, Varna, Razgrad and Dobrich, took part in it. 

The training conferences continued also yesterday, March 5 (Thursday), in Haskovo, Kardzhali and Momchilgrad.

In “Eski mosque” in the town of Haskovo Sait Çamlıca presented the topic  “Introducing examples of the life of the Prophet (pbuh) in modern times”, which was attended by imams from the regional mufti’s offices in Haskovo and Plovdiv. 

The famous Turkish trainer was a guest also in the town of Kardzhali with the topic “How to transfer the appeals of the Qur’an in our times” and from the opportunity to listen to him benefited dozens of young people and imams from the region.

The last participation for yesterday of the guest from the Republic of Turkey was in Religious School – Momchilgrad, where he was a guest-speaker during the traditional lecture for the students Thursday evening. Çamlıca presented to the teachers and the students of the religious school the topic about “Motivation and education of youths”.

A lecture in Religious School “Nyuvvab” was also planned but due to the announced flu outbreak it was canceled.

The last participation of the famous Turkish trainer and writer during his visit to Bulgaria is scheduled for Saturday, March 7 this year, when he will be a guest at the Association for Cultural Interaction in the city of Sofia. From 17:00 o’clock Çamlıca will speak about “Morality and Behavior of Islamic Leaders”.

“The idea to invite Sait Çamlıca for a first time to Bulgaria came from the members of the Association – such a renowned pedagogue and professional has never been a guest in Bulgaria. Yet in November we planned and arranged the series of conferences with his participation and we managed to implement them with the active cooperation on behalf of the regional mufti’s offices at the Muslim Denomination in our country.” – Beyhan Mehmed – BAGHIE Chairman, commented on the held for a first time conferences with the participation of Sait Çamlıca.

Sait Çamlıca was born in 1974 in a family of Turkish immigrants in Germany. However, in the 1990^s his family returned to their native Turkey where Çamlıca completed his secondary education in a religious school. In 2000 he graduated from the University of Marmara with a specialty “German Philology”, and six years later published also his first book. Çamlıca has devoted 8 years of his life to teaching activity in the public and private sector. He is the author of dozens of books in the field of Islamic theology. He holds conferences, workshops, lectures and different kind of trainings for students, teachers, parents.
