Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna held meetings with representatives of the Muslim community in several settlements in the region on Friday, February 14, this year.

The Regional Mufti of Varna Nuray Shukri visited the village of Ezerovo in the Municipality of Beloslav where he performed the Friday Jumu’ah prayer. After that an official working meeting was held with the representatives of the Muslim Board of Trustees – Ezerovo. After the last few years the village did not have a permanent imam there, such has recently been appointed. He is a graduate of the annual training course for imams “Mustafa Chatlak” in Shumen. In connection with this during the meeting were discussed the upcoming activities during the month of Ramadan, the expectations of the local population for the newly appointed Muslim preacher and other issues related to the work of the local Muslim Board of Trustees.

A meeting was also held with the Muslims in Asparuhovo quarter in the city of Varna. It took place in the local mosque and the management of Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna was presented by the Secretary Fahredin Mollamehmed. After performing the festive Muslim prayer there were discussed the problems of the local Muslims in connection with the organization of the Muslim funerals. There were proposed interim solutions and a plan was also outlined for longer-term solution of the existing difficulties in this regard. The local imam and the guest from Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna recited a general a general dua (supplication) with which the meeting was officially closed.

The third meeting held on Friday was between the Deputy Mufti in the town of Provadia Oktay Hashim and representatives of the Muslim community in the village of Partizani, Dalgopol Municipality. Hashim performed the Friday Jumu’ah prayer in the mosque of the village and delivered the festive Friday sermon. Due to the fact that Hashim officially took office as a deputy mufti in Provadia a month ago he introduced himself to the Muslims in the village of Partizani and got acquainted with them, he held a meeting with the chairman of the Muslim Board of Trustees – Partizani where the life and the problems of the Muslims in the settlement were discussed.
