The Concept of the Divine Revelation in the five main religions was the focus of the inter-faith discussion held in Sofia
An inter-faith discussion on “The Concept of Revelation in Heavenly Religions” was held on February 10 (Monday) in the Center for Media and Culture at Grand Mufti’s Office. The event was jointly organized by the Muslim Denomination and the National Council of the Religious Communities in Bulgaria (NCRCB).
The concept of the Divine Revelation in five different religions was presented by the participants in the discussion - Stela Behar from the Jewish community, Father Angel Angelov from the Orthodox community, Prof. Vladimir Gradev from the Catholic community, Tanya Petrova from the Protestant community, and Dr. Arif Abdullah from the Muslim community.
The discussion was officially opened by the moderator Birali Birali, who expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of this another discussion event with the participation of representatives of different religious communities and shared his hope that the joint inter-faith initiatives will continue also in the future and will become even more.
During the discussion the five participants, using a variety of approaches, shared about the concept of revelation in their religion, explained what is understood under this concept, what is its scope and what is the relation with the revelation in the Holy Scriptures. During the event were highlighted the general and the different in the understandings of revelation in the different religions as well as the moments that do not find similarity in each of the divine religions.
The discussion ended with the opportunity for the audience to ask questions the five participants from different religious communities, with which were raised and discussed a number of other interesting topics and issues.
