CSA: With 50 more children increases the number of the orphans supported in 2020
From the beginning of the current year, 2020, the number of the orphaned children supported by Grand Mufti’s Office increases from 292 to 343. This was announced during the first working meeting of the Committee on Social Activities (CSA) at the Supreme Muslim Council (SMC) which took place in Sofia on February 5 (Wednesday), 2020.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Committee and a Deputy Grand Mufti in charge of the social activities – Birali Myumyun Birali, as well as the CSA members – respectively the regional muftis of Sofia, Blagoevgrad, Smolyan, Shumen and Sliven, the expert from the Department on Education Nazmie Kulova and the expert from The Social Department Dzhefer Isov.
The participants in the meeting reviewed the tasks to be done, set to the CSA at the last meeting held in 2019. They analyzed the results of the held social campaign “Orphans’ Week” 2019. The agenda of the working meeting included also a review of the submitted to SAC applications for granting ad hoc aid, as a result of which it was decided to provide with such aid of the amount of 300.00 BGN 4 people in total from settlements in the scope of three regional mufti’s offices in the country. The list of the supported orphans in our country was updated, and their total number was finally increased by 50 children. The participants in the meeting discussed also issues related to the preparation for the month of Ramadan, 2020 and the implementation of the social activities at the Muslim Denomination during the present year.
The next regular SAC meeting was scheduled for March 11, 2020.
