Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria Dr. Nargiz Gurbanova visited Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv

The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Bulgaria Her Excellency Dr. Nargiz Gurbanova had an official visit to Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv on January 29 (Wednesday) this year. This is the second visit of the high-ranking diplomat to Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv for the recent five years, the last one of which was in 2016.

Accompanied by the diplomatic secretary of the Embassy of Azerbaijan, Dr. Nargiz Gurbanova was welcomed to the mufti’s office in Plovdiv by the Regional Mufti Taner Veli and the Chairman of the Muslim Board of Trustees – Plovdiv Ahmed Pehlivan.

During the held official meeting Her Excellency Dr. Nargiz Gurbanova was informed about the activities of Regional Mufti’s Office – Plovdiv and the current projects which the institution at Grand Mufti’s Office has been working.

The diplomat in her turn invited the hosts from Plovdiv to visit the Republic of Azerbaijan during the summer months of July and August this year, when it is expected to be launched direct flights Sofia – Baku. The two parties discussed also other issues related to the participation of Azerbaijan in the cultural events in Plovdiv during the past year, 2019, when the city was announced as European Capital of Culture.

At the end of the meeting the host Taner Veli and Her Excellency Dr. Gurbanova exchanged traditional for the two countries gifts and parted with best wishes.
