22-year-old young man from Krumovgrad region successfully completed his training for hafiz

After several years of training at the Training Course for hafizes “Hafiz Murad Hadzhi” in the mining town of Madan Eliyasa Ilyaz Emin is already officially one of them – the so called “Guardians of the Qur’an” in Bulgaria, who has manifested the will and the persistence to memorize by heart the sacred texts. The young man is at the age of 22 and is from the village of Buk, Krumovgrad region.

On September 15 (Sunday) 2019 in the central mosque of the town of Krumovgrad took place an official event to celebrate the Eliyasa Emin’s becoming a hafiz (Qur’an memorizer). The celebration was attended by nearly 1200 people among whom regional muftis and representatives of the Muslim Denomination, teachers and fellow students of the young hafiz from the training school in the town of Madan, guests from Religious School – Momchilgrad as well as guests from Greece and the Republic of Turkey. The official event was also attended by the Mayor of the Municipality of Krumovgrad Sebihan Mehmed and the Chairman of the Municipal Council Metin Bayram.

The program of the celebration included reading of mawlid and recitation of parts and short chapters from the Qur’an-i Kerim – both by hafiz Eliyasa Emin and by the director and the students in the training course for hafizes in Madan. Religious songs (ilyahi) were also performed. Greeting addresses and congratulations for the achieved success of the young hafiz were offered by the regional muftis of Smolyan and Kardzhali Nedzhmi Dabov and Beyhan Mehmed.

Eliyasa Emin is an outstanding example for our Muslim community in Krumovgrad and do hope that his success will be repeated and his example will be followed also by other young people here.” – said for Grandmufti.bg the Deputy Regional Mufti of Krumovgrad Nasuf Halil on the occasion of the held event. 

The celebration was closed with a dua (supplication) by the Regional Mufti of Kardzhali Beyhan Mehmed and all guests were offered a festive lunch.
