Regional competition in Basic knowledge in Islam was held in Razgrad 

The 15^th Regional competition in Basic knowledge in Islam, organized by Regional Mufti’s office – Razgrad, took place at the “Ahmed Bey” mosque in the town on August 17, 2019.

Eager children from the entire Razgrad district started arriving in Razgrad early in the morning in order to compare their knowledge about their religion, which they acquired in the Qur’an courses during their summer holiday. In the competition this year participated ten courses that competed individually. The competition was held into three rounds. In the first round the children took a test in which they had to mark the correct answers of questions in the field of Aqidah, Fiqh, Akhlaq, Sirah. The second round was about recitation by heart of the small suras (chapters) of the Qur’an and expressively recitation. And the third round was about practical knowledge – performing prayer.

The competition was opened with recitation of verses from the Qur’an-i Kerim by Ibrahim Topuz – guest-imam from the Republic of Turkey. Then the Regional Mufti of Razgrad Mehmed Alya welcomed all participating teachers, guests and children, wished the participants success and thanked their teachers for their efforts and for their responsible role in educating the growing Muslims. The difficult task to select the best participant had the jury consisting of: Chairman: Rahmi Beyzat – imam of the village of Dyankovo, and members – Shakir Ahmedchikov – imam of the town of Razgrad, and Hamdi Nezir – imam of the village of Mortogonovo and a regional coordinator of the summer Qur’an courses. Presenter of the competition was Sunay Zyulkyar – imam of the town of Zavet. All participants performed well, and we can commend also the participants from the Qur’an courses who participated for a first time in such kind of a competition.

Like in every competition, in this too a winner, who was best prepared, had to be selected. Winners among the Qur’an courses became those from the village of Dyankovo with a teacher Ibrahim Topuz – at first place, at second place was ranked the student from the Qur’an course in the town of Loznitsa with a teacher Ismail Etemov, and at third place was ranked the Qur’an course of the village of Mortogonovo with a teacher Hamdi Nezir. The prize fund included cash prizes, tablets, school bags and stationaries, T-shirts and sweatshirts. The competition included also sports tournaments to entertain the participants.

The program ended with a dua (supplication) and lunch for all participants, provided by the organizers.
