Sports day for the children from the summer Qur’an courses in the region of Shumen

Regional Mufti’s Office – Shumen held a sports day for the children the summer Qur’an courses in the region on July 24 (Wednesday), this year. The sports and entertaining program took place near the Shumen Plateau in the city of Shumen and included football tournament, various non-competitive sports activities as well as a picnic for all students.

Nearly 200 children and youths from the summer Qur’an courses at Regional Mufti’s Office – Shumen took part in the sports day. There participated students from the villages of Bortsi, Yasenkovo, Balnari, Pet mogili, Karavelovo, Takach, Sini vir, Kliment, Venets, Todor Ikonomovo, as well as from Novi Pazar and Shumen.

“The greatest excitement for the children caused the football tournaments between the teams of the Qur’an courses”, said for Grandmufti.bg the Secretary of Regional Mufti’s Office – Shumen Mehmed Mehmedov. He said that after the tight race at the football field the team of the Qur’an course from “Kalyak” mosque in Shumen ranked at first place, the group of the elder students from the Qur’an course of the village of Valnari – at second place, and the third place was for the group of the younger students from Valnari. The group of the Qur’an course of the “Tatar” mosque of Shumen ranked at fourth place. The team of the first finalists was awarded with a cup, the participants who ranked at second and third place received special certificates, and all the other participants were given certificates for participation by the organizers.

For the all almost 200 children who participated in the sports day, the mufti’s office in Shumen provided also lunch.

During the summer of the present year, 2019, there are 40 groups in total at Regional Mufti’s Office - Shumen, being trained in the program of the summer Qur’an courses of Grand Mufti’s Office.
