Greeting Address on behalf of the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi on the occasion of the feast of Eid al Fitr

Dear Muslim brothers and sisters, dear compatriots,

The month, which we have been living with enthusiasm and delight, has passed almost imperceptibly. Once again we were embraced by the grace of the Exalted Allah, but along with this once again we were assured of the words of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who said: “If my ummah knew the value, the honour and the importance of the month Ramadan properly, they would desire the entire of the year to be Ramadan.”

Despite of our desire this moth never to end, Allah has determined something else – to part with it in order to await it again an entire year and to meet it again. This is the best for sure because every year in Ramadan we rediscover the wisdom of Allah which we have even not thought about. This gives us a greater delight and greater confidence to serve Him sincerely.

Dear believers,

When the month of Ramadan is over everyone goes out to celebrate. Eid al Fitr is like a market where everyone brings with himself what he has produced. In the same way on the day of Eid everyone goes and present to Allah the good deeds which he has done during the past month. Fasting, night prayer, financial support to the needy – this is just a part of what we want Allah to accept from us. The most important is to strengthen our faith and trust in the Exalted Allah and last but not least – the spiritual charge which will hold us throughout the year.

Let us not forget on the day of Eid to greet relatives and friends, but before all – to honor our parents if they are among us, and if they had left this world – not to forget to pray for them. Because our prayer will reach them and will make them happy.

Along with this let us not forget the help to the needy and to those who are forgotten from the society – this is help in the Name of Allah. Let us make everything possible to make happy as more such people as we can, making no difference of their gender, ethnicity and religion. Only in this way we will show the true face of Islam and will be honored with the Mercy of Allah.

Let us ask the Almighty to reward everyone, to guide all the Bulgarian people and to protect us. Happy Eid al Fitr 2019!
