30 children were circumcised during “sunnet” in the town of Velingrad

Regional Mufti’s Office – Pazardzhik with the support of Grand Mufti’s Office in Bulgaria organized and held a mass circumcision (sunnet) for children. It took place on April 13 (Saturday), 2019 at the central mosque of the town of Velingrad.

The event was attended also by the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi who greeted the parents of the 30 children in total from the region of Velingrad, who were circumcised, for the symbolic entering of their descendants in Islam.

“During the recent past the Muslims in our country were imprisoned for performing the “sunnet” as a religious rite. Praised to be Allah that today we have freedom and that such kind of religious act can be freely announced and performed.” – said for Grandmufti.bg the Regional Mufti o Pazardzhik Abdullah Salih.

The religious rite was performed by the specialist in this field Hyusein Mustafov from the town of Aytos.
