Regional Mufti’s Office – Haskovo held a working with imams and members of Muslim boards of trustees from the region

On February 16 (Saturday) this year Regional Mufti’s Office – Haskovo held a working meeting with the imams and the members of the Muslim boards of trustees from its region.

Official guests of the working meeting were the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council (SMC) Vedat Ahmed, the Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Myumyun Birali and Nuri Böcekbakan from Edirne, Republic of Turkey.

The meeting was opened with recitation of a part of the Holy Qur’an after which the guests Birali Birali and Nuri Böcekbakan delivered their greeting addresses to all participants.

The host and Regional Mufti of Haskovo Basri Eminefendi also welcomed the participants in the meeting and informed them about its agenda. He presented a report on the activities of the mufti’s office in Haskovo during the last year, 2018, and briefly informed the audience about the upcoming projects for the present year.

During the meeting the SMC Chairman Vedat Ahmed reminded about the importance of the work of the imams and their duties. He informed the participating Muslim clerics and the chairmen of the Muslim boards of trustees about the final voted amendments to the Bulgarian Law on the Religious Denominations.

After closing the meting the host Basri Eminefendi sent the highly-respected guests with modest gifts and gratitude and appreciation for their visit to the town of Haskovo.
