A group of students from a school in Vidin visited the “Osman Pazvantoglu” mosque in the town

On October 19, Friday, 2018 a group of students from PS “Otets Paisiy” (Father Paisiy) in the town of Vidin led by the Director of the school Liana Ivanova visited the “Osman Pazvantoglu” mosque in the town.

The visit was done in the framework of the launched by Grand Mufti’s Office for another year national initiative “Week of Mosques” 2018.

The imam of the mosque Samet Dzhanibov told the sixth-graders about the history of the Muslim temple, related to its construction and the construction of the library at it. He informed the children about the different ornaments and the meaning of each of them.

The sixth-graders from PS “Otets Paisiy” – Vidin listened with interest the presented by the imam information about the function of the mosque in Islam, about the different holidays of the Muslims and about the religion as a whole.

The initiative “Week of Mosques” this year took place in the week from October 15 to 21 and included a lot of events held by the different regional mufti’s offices in the country. They included Open days in the Muslim temples in a number of cities and smaller settlements, there were initiated meetings and talks, public lectures on various topics, related to the role and the importance of the mosque in Islam for the Muslims.
