The new academic 2018/2019 year in the High Islamic Institute – Sofia began

The new academic year in the High Islamic Institute – Sofia was officially opened on October 1 this year with an official ceremony which took place at the premises of the Institute.

Official guests of the opening were the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, the Social Affairs Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bulgaria Mehmet Genç, the Educational Affairs Attaché at the Turkish embassy in Bulgaria Şenol Genç, Assoc. Prof. Ibrahim Yalamov, the Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Birali, the Deputy Grand Mufti Ahmed Hasanov, the former Grand Mufti of Bulgaria and present Director of the training school for imams - Ustina Selim Mehmed and others.

Presenter of the program on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year was Aydan Yumerov. He gave the floor to the guests to deliver their greeting addresses to the students and the lecturers of the HII. They all welcomed the students and wished them successful new academic year.

Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi thanked the students for choosing the HII and encouraged them to be confident, purposeful and to realize their value in the society. In his turn Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Dzhanli presented to the students the new opportunities which the Students exchange program “Erasmus” provides, as well as the opportunities to continue the education in Turkey. He focused on the opportunity to improve with joint efforts the quality of education in theHII.  

The former Social Affairs Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey had sent a greeting letter, because he was no longer in our country. His present colleague Mehmet Genç personally welcomed the students and Şenol Genç said that the only way for the society to progress is the education of the youth.

During the ceremony for the beginning of the new academic year Assoc. Prof. Yalamov told about the path passed from the Intermediate Islamic Institute to High Islamic Institute. Selim Mehmed also greeted the students and marked that he is the living example of how a graduate of the HII can make career at different positions in the system of the Muslim Denomination, even to reach the office of a Grand Mufti.

After the address of Selim Mehmed Aydan Yumerov closed the ceremony on the opening of the academic year and wished his colleagues successful work and nice lectures to the students during the new 2018/2019 year.
