Regional Mufti of Veliko Tarnovo participated in working meetings in Germany and the Netherlands

The Regional Mufti of Veliko Tarnovo Syuleyman Masurev had working visits in two European countries – Germany and the Netherlands. He visited the countries in the period September 17-21 this year and was accompanied by two representatives of the Muslim Board of Trustees – Draganovo – Hasan Kabakolakov and Mustafa Kotakov. The aim of the visits was to seek financial support in order to continue the project for the construction of the mosque in the village of Draganovo (Municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa).

The delegation from Bulgaria held a meeting in the German city of Karlsruhe of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, with the Religious Affairs Attaché of the Consulate of “Diyanet” in Karlsruhe – Adem Dursun. In Germany was also held a meeting with Muslim migrant workers from the region of Veliko Tarnovo.

“As a result of the held meetings and conversations a certain amount of money was raised that will allow to proceed to the next stage of the construction of the mosque in Draganovo. Currently the construction is at the stage of laying a foundation and it has to continue with the rough construction” – explained for Grandmufti.bg the secretary of the Mufti’s Office of Veliko Tarnovo Yashar Mehmedov.

After the meeting held in Germany the delegation from Veliko Tarnovo went to the Netherlands, where meetings with Muslims from the region of Veliko Tarnovo working in the Netherlands were also held. During the conversations and the discussions the representatives of the Muslim community there decided to collect among themselves a monthly donation contribution, and the raised funds to be invested in purchasing lands and afterwards – for construction of mosques in settlements in the region of Tarnovo, where currently there are no Muslim temples – such as Pavlikeni for example, and some villages in the Municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa.

We would like to recall that the opening of the construction site for the construction of the new mosque in the village of Draganovo, Municipality of Gorna Oryahovitsa, was officially done at the beginning of this year, 2018. But for the implementation of this project the local Muslims rely only on personal means and donations.

"When a human being dies, all of his deeds are terminated except for three types: an ongoing sadaqah (construction of a mosque, road, hospital), a knowledge from which others benefit, and a righteous child who makes du'a for him after his death."
