Iftar in Stara Zagora brought together a number of official guests and Muslims from the region
Regional Mufti’s Office – Stara Zagora gave a Ramadan iftar dinner which brought together a number of Muslims from the region and the entire country on May 17 (Thursday) this year.
Among the official guests of the iftar dinner, which took place in the masjid of the city of Stara Zagora, were the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in the city of Plovdiv Husein Ergani, the Eurasian Chairman of the Turkish Presidency on the Religious Affairs “Diyanet” Ömer Faruk Savuran, the Social Affairs Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Plovdiv Metin Akbaş, as well as Mehmet Ali Erdem – Commercial Attaché. There also participated students form the Trakia University in Stara Zagora, as well as nearly 100 Muslims from the city and the surrounding settlements.
The Regional Mufti of Stara Zagora Turhan Hasan welcomed all participants and focused on the importance of the holy month of Ramadan for the Muslims. The host also explained the duties of the Muslims during the month of Ramadan, the importance of reading the Holy Book Qur’an-i Kerim, adhering to the commandments of Allah and applying the obtained knowledge.
Greeting addresses to all guests were also delivered by the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Plovdiv Husein Ergani, as well as the Social Affairs Attaché Metin Akbaş.
The iftar dinner ended with a common dua (supplication).
Every year during the month of Ramadan in Stara Zagora are organized and held nearly 20 Ramadan iftar dinners for the Muslims from the local population.
