The Supreme Muslim Council awards the prize “HODZHAZADE” for a second year

 

The Supreme Muslim Council continues the undertaken initiative for awarding individuals who have contributed to theachievement wider recognition of the Muslim Denomination, as in 2017 there was very good feedback from the society. That is why following a decision of the central collective managing body of the Muslim Denomination, composed of the Council Chairman Vedat S. Ahmed and its members – the Regional Mufti of Aytos Selyatin Muharem and the lecturer from the High Islamic Institute Aydan Yumerov, began the necessary preparation for awarding the prizes “Hodzhazade Mehmed Muhyiddin Efendi” 2018.

With regard to the organization the Awarding Committee met a little while ago and discussed the regulation from the last year and the awarding process. After the discussions and minor, but needed corrections, the Committee adopted the regulation for 2018.

As it is already known the “Hodzhazade Mehmed Muhyiddin Efendi” Award was established the last year and is going to be given every year for contribution to the development of the Muslim Denomination in the Republic of Bulgaria. The award is named after Hodzhazade Mehmed Muhyiddin Effendi, who is the first Grand Mufti of the Muslims in Bulgaria, elected on December 8, 1910, when Grand Mufti’s Office began operating. The award consists of a plaque, certificate and a cash amount and will be given up to 5 persons a year.

The prestigious award will be given to members of the Muslim community in Bulgaria, other citizens who are concerned with the problems of the Muslim Denomination. Reason for awarding the prize can be long standing activity in the structures of the Muslim Denomination, a high moral deed or an act for achievement wider recognition or the development of its work, implementation of an unique or exemplary project, publication of a work, carrying out a study or implementation of a project and other significant activities related to the development of the Denomination.

The motivated nomination for awarding the prize will be made by the imams, the members of the Muslim boards of trustees, the regional Muslim councils and the Supreme Muslim Council, the Muslim schools, the regional mufti’s offices and rand mufti’s Office, as well as by a petition by the members of the Muslim community in Bulgaria.

The deadline for submitting the motivated proposals is October 15, 2018. Immediately afterwards the Committee will evaluate the received proposals and on December 8 the second awards for contribution “Hodzhazade Mehmed Muhyiddin Efendi” will be given at a ceremony. The nominations for award should be sent in writing to the Committee.
