Terror does not have religion and country
„Terror does not have religion and country” this was one of the most important statements during the international conference held on 11th and 12th of March, 2017 in Cairo, Egypt.
It was attended by the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council Vedat S. Ahmed. The Conference, organized by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Awqaf in Egypt, at the invitation of Prof. Mohammad Mukhtar Jumaa was attended by about 100 Muslim leaders, researchers and representatives of state institutions from 40 countries.
Such kinds of conferences are held every year in Egypt and this is the twenty-seventh one. Every year the topic is different and topical.
This year the forum was held under the title “The role of leaders and decision-makers in spreading the culture of peace and confronting terrorism and challenges”.
Besides the religious leaders from different Muslim countries reports were delivered also by representatives of the Egyptian parliament, representatives of state institutions from Kazakhstan, Mauritania, Russia, as well as from the European Council and European Commission and others.
The general idea of the conference was that Islam is a religion of peace and it must not be speculated any more with different phrases that put together Islam and terror. Furthermore terror cannot be stopped and defeated only with the efforts of the religious leaders that is why in this process have to be involved very actively people who are decision-makers, who adopt laws and apply them.
