Meeting of the religious leaders of the different religious communities was held in Burgas
At the initiative of the Regional Governor of Burgas Pavel Marinov a meeting with the religious leaders in the region was held on 5th of November (Wednesday).
The meeting was attended by the of the Vicar of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in Burgas Boris Berov, the Regional Mufti of Aytos Selyatin Muharem, Sabetai Varsanov, Head of the Jewish organization “Shalom” in Burgas, as well as by representatives of the Protestant Christian community in the region.
The Regional Governor Pavel Marinov opened the meeting and gave the opportunity to each of the participants to tell about their professional and religious path and to outline the activities and the problems of the relevant religious community, which he represents and guides.
Within the easy conversation which took place many important charitable and humanitarian initiatives aimed at helping poor, widows, orphans and minority groups, which the different religious communities perform through their churches, mosques and other prayer homes, were shared.
The participants in the meeting agreed on the idea that now more than ever we need to affirm in practice in life the motto of the held meeting – for more “Tolerance, religious latitude and respecting the religious freedom and humanism in the society as a guarantee of a lasting democratic legal order”.
All participants thanked the Regional Governor of Burgas Pavel Marinov for organizing the meeting and wished him success.
