Traditional prayer for rain was held in Asenovgrad

By a tradition during the summer months in Plovdiv region are made prayers for prosperity (barakah) and rain. The prayers for rain (salat al-istisqa’), which are organized by the relevant Muslim Boards of Trustees, consist of reading Qur’an, mawlid and dua (supplication) for rain. This year’s prayer for rain in quarter Dolni oden – Asenovgrad brought together thousands of people who eagerly awaited this event. On 24^th of July similar prayer for rain was organized also in the village of Ezerovo, Municipality of Parvomay. And on 31^st of July it will be held also in the village of Branipole, Municipality of Rodopi, as well as in the village of Voden, Municipality of Parvomay.
