Regional Muslim Conferences continue to be held in different parts of the country

 

Regional Muslim Conferences were held during the recent days in some other Bulgarian cities – Haskovo, Kardzhali, Sliven and Targovishte.

The Conference in Haskovo was held on 17th of March, 2016 in the hall of the Business Center in the city. The Conference began with a recitation of Qur’an-i Kerim by the imam of the village of Zornitsa Aydan Mehmed.

Official guests of the event were the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi and the regional muftis of Kardzhali and Krumovgrad. The Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi welcomed the delegates and delivered a brief speech stressing that the Muslim community must be more active in all its affairs and that it must show independence in all its decisions. At the same time he reminded the employees, attending the Conference about the real responsibility that everyone has to show in performing his work and wished them fruitful work.

The Regional Mufti delivered a report on the activities of the Regional Mufti’s Office- Haskovo in the period 2011 – 2016. The activities of the Regional Mufti’s Office were discussed. All participating delegates unanimously raised and supported the only candidature for a Regional Mufti – that of the former Mufti Basri Eminefendi. After his re-election Eminefendi thanked for the confidence of the delegates and the Conference ended with a dua (supplication) made by the Grand Mufti. All parted with wishes for more successes and fruitful activities.

On 17th of March Regional Muslim Conferences were held also in the cities of Kardzhali and Sliven.

The Conference in Kardzhali was held in the central mosque in the city where the former religious leader of the Muslims Beyhan Mehmed was re-elected as a Regional Mufti with 99 positive votes and two votes for his opponent Fikri Sali. Delegates of the Regional Conference were the imams from the region of Kardzhali and the Regional Mufti Beyhan Mehmed. Guests of the forum were the Grand Mufti of the Republic Dr. Mustafa Alish Hadzhi, the regional mufti of Haskovo and the former regional mufti of Krumovgrad. The Conference was observed with a great interest by several local media, representatives of Muslim boards of trustees and ordinary Muslims from the region.

The two candidates for the position of a Regional Mufti of Kardzhali showed tolerant attitude and mutual respect during the entire conference. The Conference began with a recitation of Ashr-i Sherif by the imam of the mosque of Kardzhali Erdinch Hayrula. After that a welcoming speech was delivered by the Grand mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi, who wished success to the forum. According to the approved agenda the former Regional Mufti Beyhan Mehmed presented summarized report on his activities during the past mandate 2011 – 2016. After the almost unanimous re-election of Beyhan Mehmed as a Regional Mufti the Conference ended with a dua for health and prosperity made by the Grand Mufti.

The Regional Muslim Conference in Sliven was held in the premises of the mufti’s office. It was attended by 11 delegates imams. A representative of the Muslim Denomination was the Chairman of the Supreme Muslim Council (SMC) Vedat Ahmed. The Conference was opened with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an by the imam of the town of Yambol Arif Arifov. After that the delegates were informed about the agenda. The Regional Mufti Akif Akifov delivered a report on the activities of the Regional Mufti’s Office in Sliven for the past mandate 2011 – 2016 by informing the delegates about the achieved results in the last five years. There were also discussed issues related to the religious affairs in the region. With unanimously support the delegates approved the proposed candidature for a Mufti of Sliven – that of the former Regional Mufti Akif Akifov who performs this position since year 2010.

The Regional Muslim Conference in Sliven was closed by a dua made on behalf of the SMC Chairman Vedat Ahmed.

A day after the Regional Muslim Conferences held in Haskovo, Kardzhali and Sliven, a conference convened by a SMC Decision was held also in Targovishte on 18th of March.

It was held in the pensioners’ club “Vasil Levski” in the town. Guests of the event were Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi – Grand Mufti, and Sherif Hyusnyu – Director of SRS “NYUVVAB” – Shumen. The Conference was attended by the Regional Mufti Enver Yahov and 52 imams from Targovishte region, who were delegates.

The Conference was opened with a recitation of the Qur’an by Selim Selimov – imam of “Zindzhirli” mosque in the town of Omurtag. For chairman was elected Ayhan Abtulov, imam of the village of Ruets, and minutes keeper was Mustafa Uruchov, imam of the village of Nadarevo. The Regional Mufti Enver Yahov delivered a comprehensive report along with a presentation on the activities, carried out during the mandate 2011 – 2016, the religious affairs in the region were discussed after which it was proceed to the election of a regional mufti. The delegates unanimously voted for the former Regional Mufti Enver Yahov. The conference in Targovishte ended with a dua made by the Grand Mufti.
