SMC decided that Regional Muslim Conferences will be organized in March

The Supreme Muslim Council (SMC) at its meeting held on 26^th of February, 2016 in the capital city decided Regional Muslim Conferences (RMC) to be convened during March.

According to the Statute of the Muslim Denomination the Council determined the dates, the venue and the agenda of the Regional Muslim Conferences which are regional advisory bodies of the Denomination. They have the right to deal with the problems of the Muslim community in the relevant region and to propose to the SMC to three candidatures for regional muftis from whom one is elected for the relevant region.

According to the decision of the SMC the Regional Muslim Conferences will take place from 10^th of March till 24^th of March, 2016. Based on the decisions made in RMC and their proposals within one week SMC will elect the regional muftis.

By a decision of the SMC the agenda of the Regional Muslim Conferences will include presenting a report of the regional muftis for the past mandate (2011 – 2016), discussion on the religious affairs in the region, election of candidates for regional muftis, as well as other topics related to the religious activities in the region.

Right to be delegate in RMC have the present regional mufti and the imam hatips from the relevant region. The proposals or the candidatures for regional mufti have to be made in writing prior or in the day of the conference to the Regional Muslim Council which will perform the function of an organizational committee of RMC.

For the proper carrying out of the conferences the SMC established a Central Organizational Committee headed by the Deputy Grand Mufti Murat Pingov, and in each of the regional mufti’s offices the relevant Regional Muslim Council has the task to organize RMC.
