The President congratulated the Grand Mufti for his re-election on this position
“Please accept my congratulations on the occasion of your re-election as a Grand Mufti. The credibility lend on behalf of the Muslim community in Bulgaria is not only a recognition but also a responsibility that obliges you to continue with dignity your work for the welfare of the Muslims in the country and for the promotion of the understanding and the mutual respect between the different religious denominations in our country” wrote the President Rosen Plevneliev in his congratulatory address to the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi.
During the regular National Muslim Conference on 24th of January this year in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi was unanimously re-elected at the position of a Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria. Congratulatory addresses were also sent by the President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Acad. Stefan Vodenicharov, H.E. Shpend Kallaba, Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Sofia, Ali Said al Katiri , a representative of the Sultanate of Oman, and the Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Saudi Arabia Mr. Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Matar personally presented his congratulations.
According to the head of state he has always actively sought and will continue to promote the dialogue between all main religions in Bulgaria.
“That is why as I attend the traditional for the Orthodox Bulgarian Easter and Christmas services, so every year I light one of the candles for Hanukkah in the Sofia Synagogue, I regularly host the traditional for the Muslims iftar dinners and share the holidays of all Bulgarian citizens regardless of their religious affiliation”, further wrote the President of the Republic.
According to him this is not only and expression of a respect but also an important reaffirmation of the will and the choice to live together in peace and harmony.
“I deeply believe that the established model of understanding and mutual co-existence of the Bulgarian citizens with dignity regardless their ethnicity and faith, is based on the honest and active efforts of all of us. That is why I am convinced that you will continue your efforts for strengthening the trust between the religious communities in Bulgaria” wrote the President in his letter to the Grand Mufti Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi and wishes him good luck.
“I congratulate you cordially on the occasion of your re-election as a Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria. I am convinced that with your personal and professional qualities you will continue to work for the preservation of the traditionally good relations between the representatives of the different religions in Bulgaria and for the preservation of the understanding in the country as well as for the convergence and the strengthening of the religious tolerance”, wrote Acad. Stefan Vodenicharov in his congratulatory letter to the Grand Mufti.
According to him mercy, compassion and forgiveness are among those values which we need most of all in times of difficulties, in year of crisis and trials.
Acad. Stefan Vodenicharov expresses his belief that the good relations between BAS and Grand Mufti’s Office will continue to develop in the future.
The Grand Mufti continues to receive congratulations from the country and abroad on the occasion of his re-election on this position.
