“Week of the mosques” in Smolyan continues

A program, dedicated to the “Week of the mosques”, within the national campaign of the Grand Mufti’s Office, carried out from 13^th to 19^th of October, was held on 14^th of October, 2014 in the central mosque of the town of Rudozem.

More than 40 women from the municipality of Rudozem showed activity within the program, taking part in the organized charity bazaar. The bazaar roused a great interest and the amount of 300 leva was collected. The program continued with a lecture given by the Regional Mufti of Smolyan Nedzhmi Dabov. In his lecture on: “The role of the mosque in the life of a Muslim” he reminded the audience for the polyfunctionality of the mosque at the time of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), as well as for the qualities by with the Exalted Allah in 18^th verse from surah “At-Tawbah” (The Repentance) describes those who put efforts on building and maintenance of mosques, for creating the Islamic society. The Regional Mufti also said that the challenge in front of the Muslims today is again to make the mosques centers forming the Islamic identity and behaving the Islamic family. At the end of the week the Friday sermons in the central mosques in the region will be on the topic “The place of the mosque in a Muslim’s life”.
