Qur’an courses are the place where personality of the young generation is formed
On 12th and 13th of September, 2015 in the city of Plovdiv took place the Ninth national competition in basic knowledge in Islam. The competition was divided into two parts; the first part was a qualifying round where representatives of all 19 mufti’s offices from the entire country took part. These were the groups from the Qur’an courses that achieved highest scores during the preliminary regional competitions or tests.
Guests of the event were Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi – Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria, Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Birali, Ahmed Ahmedov – Secretary General at the Grand Mufti’s Office, Ulvi Ata – Social affairs attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Sofia, Metin Akbaş – Consul General at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Plovdiv, regional muftis and guest from the entire country.
“Qur’an courses are the place where the personality of the young generation is formed. Qur’an courses are the place where we understand who we are, why we came to this world and where we are going to. In this aspect it is necessary to pay serious attention to these Qur’an courses. To do everything possible according to our abilities so that every child to pass this course. The Qur’an courses are not only a place to learn how to read the Qur’an but a place for upbringing and start in life. Qur’an courses are the place where children can become good Muslims and citizens of this country and of the society in which they live”, said the Grand Mufti in his speech.
On 12th of September, 2015 the selected competitors gathered for carrying out the qualifying round. For the second round were nominated the groups from the Regional Mufti’s Offices of Blagoevgrad, Shumen and Targovishte.
On 13th of September, 2015 from 10:00 o’clock in the House of Culture “Boris Hristov” was held the final of the competition where competed the nominated participants from the three mufti’s offices. The competition was held in five rounds where the competitors presented their skills. The ranking of the three groups was as follows: third place for Shumen, second for Targovishte and first place for Blagoevgrad.
In the competition this year was selected also participant with highest result during the qualifying round. And this was Bilal Yarmandzhi – representative of RMO – Krumovgrad.
