Regional competitions in Basic knowledge in Islam were held in Varna, Krumovgrad and Velingrad

The last days of August were fill with competitive excitements for the students from the Qur’an courses in several Bulgarian regions. The Regional Mufti’s of Varna, Krumovgrad and Velingrad organized their regional competitions in Basic knowledge in Islam which to select the best participants in the courses and to give them the opportunity to present their regions on the national competition, which will be held in September in Plovdiv.
On 27th of August, 2015 Regional Mufti’s Office – Varna held the Regional competition in Basic knowledge in Islam between the students from the summer Qur’an courses in the region. The competition took place in the central mosque of the town of Suvorovo. The program began with recitation of Qur’an-i Kerim after which the Regional Mufti of the seaside capital Taner Veli welcomed all attending children and guests, wished success to the participants and thanked their teachers for their efforts and their responsible role in the education of the young Muslims. Eight groups of participants in Qur’an courses in total participated in the competition in Suvorovo. All of them took part as teams. During the competition each of the groups had to answer several questions. The questions covered the following fields: aqidah, ibadah, sira, akhlaq and Qur’an-i Kerim. There was also a test.
After the end of the competition the jury announced the results. At first place were ranked the students from the city of Varna, at second place were the representatives of the village of Medovets, and the third place was taken by the participants from the village of Dabravino. Several days after the competition organized by the Mufti’s Office in Varna such took place also in Krumovgrad region, organized by Regional Mufti’s Office – Krumovgrad. The competition in Basic knowledge in Islam between the participants in the Qur’an courses there took place on 30th of August, 2015 in the central mosque of Krumovgrad. The Regional Mufti of Krumovgrad Nasuf Halil welcomed all attending children and the other guests and wished success to the participants. He expressed his gratitude to the teachers in the Qur’an courses for their efforts and emphasized on the responsible role of all of them in the education of the Muslims. Children from seven Qur’an courses from the region took part in the competition. The task of the jury was not easy but anyway it managed to select the best three groups. At first place was ranked the group from the village of Buk, at second place – the students from the village of Moryantsi, and the third place was taken by the students from the village of Lazhichnik. All participants in the competition received gifts. The children received gift packaged containing Muslims magazine, Qur’an, and headscarf or beret, respectively for the girls and the boys. A special award was foreseen for the competitor who answered all questions. During the competition in Krumovgrad unerring knowledge showed Bilyal Mustafa who also received mobile phone.  
In the last day of August was held the seventh regional competition in Basic knowledge in Islam of Regional Mufti’s Office- Pazardzhik. It took place in the central mosque of the town of Velingrad. Official guest of the event was the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Alish Hadzhi. The mosque in the Rhodopi town turned into a stage for performance of all participants in the summer Qur’an courses in Velingrad region, who came to show the knowledge which they received. In order to honor the tradition the speaker of the event Mustafa Yusuf gave the microphone to the imam of the mosque in Velingrad Azis Mehmed who recited verses from the Qur’an. After the wonderful recitation of the Qur’an the Regional Mufti of Pazardzhik Abdullah Salih welcomed the participants and their teachers and wished success to all. Before the very competition the participants were acquainted with the members of the jury which had the difficult task to assess the knowledge of each of the participating groups and to decide which of them deserves to represent Regional Mufti’s Office – Pazardzhik at the upcoming national competition in Plovdiv on 13th of September.
The Chairman of the jury Ferhad Sali reassured the participants saying that in an event like this all are winners. He explained the regulations with which was put the official start of the competition between the teams – 20 in total. With best knowledge among all groups was the team from the village of Dolno Dabreva with a teacher Umer Mustafa Kerpin. This is the group which deserved most of all to present Razardzhik region on the National Competition in Basic knowledge in Islam. The winners were awarded with certificates for participation and small gifts and all other participants received as a gift the book “I am one small Muslim”. During the final of the competition the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Mustafa Hadzhi thanked all participants and wished them good health and success in the coming new school year, as well as to continue to keep their relation with the home of Allah – the mosque. Regional Mufti’s Office – Pazardzhik wishes the participants from the Qur’an course from the village of Dolno Dabeva commendable performance in Plovdiv during the next month.
