Nisab and Fitrah for 2015

In connection with the coming of the month of Ramadan Grand Mufti’s Office would like to inform the Muslim community in the Republic of Bulgaria that the Fatwa Commission during its session held on 15th of June, 2015 in Sofia made the following decisions:
1.    The nisab (the amount a Muslim's net worth must exceed for them to be obligated to give zakat) for zakah, which is going to be given during the month of Ramadan in year 2015 is 4280 (four thousand two hundred and eighty) leva.
2.    The fitrah (sadaqat-al-fitr) for year 2015 is at least 4 (four) leva per person.
The calculations are based on the decisions of the Fatwa Commission made on 15th of August, 2009, by which they indicate the way for defining the amount of nisab for zakat and fitrah.
We wish that the month of Ramadan which will start on 18th of June, 2015, will be filled with barakah and will contribute to the welfare of all the Muslims and the other people in the country and worldwide!
