Kutlu Dogum was marked with a celebration in Sliven and Shumen

21st of April was a festive day for the Muslims in Sliven and Shumen who properly marked the birth of the Prophet (pbuh).
The celebrations in both the places were held under the title “Let’s live together in our differences”.
The celebration in Sliven was held in the hall of the Muslim Board of Trustees. Guests of the event were the Deputy Grand Mufti of the Republic of Bulgaria Vedat Ahmed, the Deputy Consul General of the Republic of Turkey, the Regional Mufti of Stara Zagora and students from the High Islamic Institute as well as by imams and mayors from the region.
The event began with recitation of verses from the Qurán-i Kerim. The Regional Mufti of Sliven Akif Akifov delivered a welcoming speech. The Deputy Grand Mufti Vedat Ahmed reminded about the practical love to the Prophet and the value of following his way.
Boys and girls greeted the guests in the crowded hall with the performance of ilyahi (religious songs) and recitation of poems dedicated to Muhammad (pbuh).
The organizer of the celebration – Regional Mufti’s Office – Sliven expresses gratitude to all who helped for the implementation of this noble deed and to all who took an active part in the event.
In Shumen the birth of the Prophet (pbuh) was also festively marked on 21st of April, Tuesday. The celebration this year was much larger than those from the previous years. It was held in “Forum” hall of “Shumen” hotel, which was not even able to gather all the guests.
Guests of the event were the Deputy Grand Mufti of the Muslims in the Republic of Bulgaria Birali Birali, Dursunali Tyurkmen – Deputy Dean of the High Islamic Institute in Sofia, regional muftis from the country, mayors of municipalities and others.
The official opening of the program started with recitation of verses of the Qur’an-i Kerim by Süleyman Demiray – imam of the “Selimiye Mosque” in Edirne and continued with a welcoming speech of Mesut Mehmed – Regional Mufti of Shumen.
Greeting to the participants were delivered also by the Deputy Grand Mufti Birali Birali and the guests from Turkey. Their speeches contained many instructive examples from the life of the Prophet (pbuh).
The celebration also included musical program presented by the students from SRS ‘Nyuvvab”- Shumen and by the guest-imam from Turkey Ibrahim Yurtçu. The program which continued almost two hours ended with best wishes made by the host of the program Dzhelil Shakir – a teacher in SRS “Nyuvvab” – Shumen.
