Student of the training course for hafizes in Madan participated in a grand event in Dubai

 

 

19-years old Adem Rahim Mehmed, a student of the Training course for hafizes in his hometown Madan presented Bulgaria at the prestigious annual competition for Qur’an memorizers (hafizes) in Dubai this month. This year’s edition of Dubai International Holy Quran Award – one of the most prestigious competitions for hafizes in the world took place from May 5 to 20 in the United Arab Emirates.

The preliminary round of the competition took place on May 8 where 120 contenders took part to compete for participation in the finals. Then the Bulgarian hafiz ranked among the first 80 participants which automatically opened the way for him to the finals which began on May 12.

Adem Rahmi Mehmed performed worthily at the international competition for hafizes and ranked at 20th place among the finalists.

The prestigious prize Dubai International Holy Quran Award is presented annually within a grand competition, funded by the Government of Dubai. This year was the 23rd edition of the competition. Since 1997 till nowadays in this competition participated nearly 2000 hafizes from all over the world. It is a pleasure that both the previous year and this one our country was worthily presented at the competition in Dubai from hafizes, the so called “guardians of the Qur’an”, from Bulgaria.
