DECLARATION

On behalf of NCRCB on the terrorist act in New Zeeland on March 15, 2019

The National Council of the Religious Communities in Bulgaria (NCRCB) strongly condemns the committed terrorist act today against two mosques in the city of Christchurch, New Zeeland, as a result of which 49 Muslim were killed during the Friday prayer and dozens were wounded. This inhuman act committed with a particular brutality and cynicism can never be justified, in any way.

We offer our sincere condolences to the families and the relatives of the victims and we wish quick recovery to the wounded. In this difficult moment we are grieving together with the relatives of the deceased and we express our full support to the Muslim community in New Zeeland.

NCRCB once again appeals for intolerance towards any manifestations of racism, xenophobia and bigotry. We call upon the media, the politicians and the society to pay particular attention to acts related to hatred speech and the incitement of ethnic and religious intolerance.
