Mosques’ Week 2017: A look at Regional Mufti’s Office – Blagoevgrad

 

“Mosques are architectural sites. Imams are their hearts, and the jamaats (the congregations) - their souls” - with these words the Regional Mufti of Blagoevgrad Aydan Mohamed emphasized the role and the responsibility of the religious leaders and of the people from the Muslim community to the mosques. This was one of the set highlights during the two special meetings held with the imams from Regional Mufti’s Office – Blagoevgrad.

The meetings took place in the towns of Gotse Delchev and Yakoruda on 18th of October, 2017. They were specially organized on the occasion of the current Mosques’ Week 2017.

Within the organized by Regional Mufti’s Office – Blagoevgrad meeting with the imams were discussed also a number of important issues. One of them – the Friday sermons (khutbas) on 20th of October, 2017 in all mosques in the region to be on the topic “Mosques in Muslim’s life”. Furthermore the mufti’s office in Blgoevgrad initiated cleaning of the mosques in its region and their preparation for meeting the winter season. This is a two-day initiative for the days of 21st and 22nd of October (Saturday and Sunday) in which can participate all willing Muslims in the settlements from Blagoevgrad region.

Besides the thematic issues on the occasion of the Mosques’ Week the imams raised the so pressing and current for all of them question about the financial difficulties in the Muslim Denomination and the problems with the payment of their salaries. During the meeting in Gotse Delchev and Yakoruda were discussed some ideas and strategies for dealing with the crisis.

Mosques’ Week is an initiative of the Muslim Denomination which is held for another year in our country and in the present year 2017 it takes place within the period 16th – 22nd of October under the form of different events and campaigns, organized by Grand Mufti’s Office and the regional mufti’s offices in the relevant settlements.
